Hero Wars: Best Heroes Tier List — August 2026 Meta Rankings

Tier lists in Hero Wars are tricky. Unlike most games, the 'best' hero depends heavily on what content you're running, what your existing roster looks like, and whether you're F2P or spending. This list focuses on overall value — heroes that are strong across multiple modes and worth the long-term investment.

S-Tier — Build These First

Astaroth — The best tank in the game, full stop. Resurrection ability, required for Guild content, relevant at every stage. No reason not to max him.

Thea — The most reliable healer. Her passive energy regen keeps your whole team firing abilities faster. Nearly every top team runs Thea.

Nebula — A support who amplifies your entire team's damage output. The difference between a team with and without Nebula in Hydra is massive. Pure value.

Keira — Physical DPS queen. Scales incredibly well with gear, has great solo carry potential in campaign and PvP.

Martha — The anti-burst healer. When enemies are doing burst damage, Martha's kit can outheal it and swing fights. Strong in Grand Arena.

A-Tier — Excellent, Worth the Investment

Celeste — Dual-mode support/damage. When in healing mode, she's almost as good as Thea. In damage mode, she deals massive magic damage. Flexible and strong.

Jhu — Physical DPS with a passive that makes him dramatically stronger as enemies die. Excellent in PvP when paired with turn-meter manipulation.

Jorgen — One of the best supports for slowing enemy energy generation. In PvP this can completely neutralize enemy ability spam.

Lars & Krista — The synergy duo. Together they deal devastating magic AoE. Either alone is mediocre; together they're A-tier.

Corvus — A defensive tank with damage reflection. More niche than Astaroth but excellent in specific Guild War matchups.

B-Tier — Good in the Right Context

Dorian — Energy regeneration support. Not as universally strong as Thea or Nebula but pairs extremely well with magic burst teams.

Mojo — Magic damage dealer with built-in defense debuff. Best on magic teams that need extra punch.

Satori — Stealth-based DPS with high burst. Can be devastating in PvP if the enemy can't react before he triggers.

Fox — Physical support that increases Crit Damage for physical carries. Makes Keira and Jhu significantly stronger.

Faceless — Copies an enemy hero's ability. Extremely powerful if you know what you're facing, unreliable in open PvP.

C-Tier — Situational or Outclassed

Heroes in this tier aren't bad — they're just outclassed by the options above in most situations. This includes: Markus, Peppy, Daredevil, Dark Star, Ginger.

They can work in specific setups but you shouldn't prioritize them over S or A tier options.

F-Tier — Avoid for Main Investment

Some heroes are genuinely not worth the soul stone investment given the meta. This tier changes patch to patch, but currently includes several older magic and tank heroes who've been powercrept.

Always check community resources before investing heavily in a new hero.

Conclusion

The most important thing about this tier list: S-tier heroes are safe investments. If you're uncertain, put your resources into Astaroth, Thea, and Keira — you will not regret it.
